Hypothetically, if an assassin kills the man who raised him — who also happens to be the leader of an anti-technology cult — how does he survive?

Simple. 

He runs.

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Bone has spent his life training to kill world leaders for the Crescent Veil. But two years ago, on his sixteenth birthday, he turned the blade on their leader — essentially his father — and became their most wanted traitor. Bleeding out in the woods, Kyle is rescued by Alex Winters, a stranger with a mysterious past, unwavering loyalty, and absolutely no sense of self-preservation.

Kyle wants to outrun the killer they made him. Alex wants to help. The Crescent Veil wants him dead. And when Kyle’s former best friend Scott tracks them down, Kyle is forced to choose: keep running from the past that made him, or face the truth that could destroy him — and everyone he cares about.
